Thos who were killed by police violence:


Abdullah Cömert (22), Student. [Hatay] Has lost his life due to a gunshot to the head, fired by the police.

Mehmet Ayvalitas (20), Worker. [Istanbul] Was overrun by a car hitting the barricades, lost his life.



Ethem Sarisuluk (26), Worker. [Ankara] Has been shot in the head by the police, lost his life.

Vedat Oguz (18), Student. [Antalya] Has lost an eye due to plastic bullets fired by the police.

Muharrem Dalsuren (36), Worker. [Ankara] Lost an eye because of a gas canister hitting him in the face.

Burak Unveren (31), University Instructor. [Istanbul] Lost an eye due to a gas canister hitting him in the face.

Selim Poyraz (23), Student. [Istanbul] Lost an eye due to a gas canister hitting him in the face.

Yusuf Metin Ozdemir (24), Student. [Ankara] Lost an eye due to a gas canister hitting him in the face.

Necati Metin (46), Soldier. [Mugla] Lost an eye due to a gas canister hitting him in the face.

Mahir Gur (22), Student. Lost an eye due to plastic bullets fired by the police. His cheekbone has been broken and left eye lid has been torn.

  1. Any news of the woman who was hit on the head by a gas canister or plastic bullet the first day of the repression. I would have thought she would not make it but I cannot find any update.

    In any case, thanks a lot for your overall effort of spreading information on the Turkish popular uprising. I do think it does make a difference.

  2. Labna Al Lami, an Egyptian tourist, was severely wounded when a gas canister hit her on the head, on the first day of mass protest. The most recent news regarding her health was that she was still in a coma.

    1. Thanks, I guess that's her. I did not know she was Egyptian (what a bad luck!) I'm not surprised that she is still in coma, of course, although I do lament it.
