The Mayor of Ankara Places Outrageous Banner in Guven Park

Ethem Sarisuluk was a 26 year old worker who had participated in the demonstrations in Ankara. He was shot in the head by a police officer on the 1st of June. His brain death had occured, and today, his heart has stopped beating.

Footage of Ethem Being shot:

Today, the mayor of Ankara, Melih Gokcek, has ordered a banner to be put up in Guven Park, where Ethem was shot. It contains sentences in praise of the riot police.

Here is the banner, it reads: "Our Most Esteemed Turkish Police, Ankara is Proud of You- Melih Gokcek"

Thanks to the "Most Esteemed Turkish Police" the Turkish Association of Doctors (TTB) have reported  1328 people injured in Ankara.

Ethem will forever be remembered as a martyr of the people's movement.

The question is...

Who will remember the likes of those who praise murderers?
